GAME plan last reflection
During this course I created a GAME plan to help me cover the NETS-T standards that I need help with. I also learned the existence of these standards that were totally unknown for me. I was able to read them and find out that I was lacking in some of the objectives but at the same time I am fulfilling a good amount of them too. In this course I been working on my technology lacks and fullfilling my tech knowledge.
One of the most important things that I feel very satisfied with is the look for professional development that will keep me and my colleague teachers gaining technology knowledge. I was able to become part of an active group of teachers that right now we are helping our entire school faculty to learn and use technology to enrich our students learning process.
My last accomplishment as a technology active teacher was for me to request being part of what it is called a New Tech Middle School. I spoke to my principal and it seems that I will be able to move to this project with my ESL students. I truly believe that this methodology of education will be very helpful for my students, since I see it as more active than passive. I have a link to CSA's mission page for you to read what it is about and see where I am moving.
I would like to end my reflection by thanking my classmates and professor for this great course. I learned many important things from all of you.

Include your students on the GAME
I see the GAME plan as a very good way to teach my students how to plan and organize their future projects. If we are integrating the 21rst. Century skills that are very well described in the NETS-S standard and NETS-T, I think we also need to teach our students how to use and plan their times. The GAME plan will provide our students of ownership on their education process. I think it is a great project complement for us to reinforce responsibility and plan management. Students input will be very helpful on the evaluation part since this can be a good complement on any class rubric. For all ELL students the fact of creating a plan on their own and contributing for a whole class evaluation will be a great language motivator.

Evaluation of my progress

This is my fourth week after I wrote my GAME plan. I feel that my goals will not be reached as fast as I thought. But my plan will be done soon. There is some work that needs to be done before actually filling my technology gaps but I think it need to be taking care of, if I really want to make a good impact in y class and professional development.
5. Engage in Professional Growth and Leadership
Like I said some weeks ago I am part of the professional development group in my school but we already found a little wall. We do not have enough time to provide quality training to our teachers. Our next idea was to use departmental meetings as professional development time. Some departments like English and Science do not want to give up their times due to some projects they are working on right now. This is the little issue we have right now but we consulted our principal about this matter and he will address this to the superintendent in their next meeting which is Tuesday 13. Our team will not meet till the following week because there are other meetings going on and most of the members will not be able to meet. Right now I feel positive about using department meetings as Professional development.
The tutor teachers are ready and they are sending e-mail questioners to find out our technology need which is great!
Prepare the field week after working on the after I
3. Digital-Age Work and Learning Model
Thank you to everyone for your responses about Wiki’s after clicking here and there I decided to go back to what I have. Moodle, I was in kind of denial about using this program because last year I had a bad experience with it. Right now I give it another chance. I think I gave me another chance with it and it seems easier. I started using it last week with my students and we got confused but all together figure out the way to solve our little challenge. It was a very good learning experience. I just asked how to start it and I teach that to my students and we are using it to talk about it.
Right now I have my seventh grade class and my eight grade class discussing about the different challenges, likes and dislikes about moodle. I need to see how they feel for me to find a hook for each student and later on use it as a way of communication.
The teacher who explained it to me told me that I can communicate with people from other countries by moodle. That interested me but I will try to do some kind of outside the country activity until me and my students feel comfortable using moodle at home.
Like I said at the beginning my goals are not hard to accomplish what I never taught is how long it would take me to set up a ground for them to launch.
But I still working on them I hope by the end of this course I would be able to talk to you about my two goals accomplishments.

Achieving the goals in my GAME plan.
Right now in my Professional development committee we set up the priorities of the school and the corporation. We find out that our corporation is pushing for UDL big time. So our main task is for us to find the way of helping all our colleagues to learn how to use it and see it as a helpful tool to teach not another requisite to follow. So far the teachers we had invited to help us in giving these mini workshops had said yes. Now our debate is in finding a good time to start teaching our colleagues. Right now our school corporation does not have money to pay extra time for teachers so we have to design a schedule in the teachers’ schedule. This is quiet a task because we really want to integrate all the teachers. Right now one of the possibilities we have is to use their departmental meetings to go over some UDL questions and then start helping them with what ever they are in need to learn.
My action plan seems working fine. I already get in to two new web pages that Lynnette recommended me ePal and edutopia.org.and I am playing around with them. I hope they could help me to reach my goal of a global project for my class.
So far I am learning how to use the wikis even thought I use them in one of my classes since I have a very strong filter in my school I never use it. Another thing that I am learning is how to play with the technology that I have and not think that I am in the middle of no where. I think that if we see around our classrooms and our students we are going to find so many technological artifacts that we can use to help them learn.
One big question I have now is can someone give me a Wiki help 101?

Monitoring my GAME Plan Progress
One of the things I already did was to join my school’s Professional development committee. One of the biggest concers of this committee is the lack of technology training we have in our school. So we are already working on finding an inexpensive way of getting this trainings. We will be asking those teachers that are very computer natives to help us the ones who are not very good on it to become technology immigrants. Our next meting will be next week and we will start working on the schedules of the teachers whom accepted to help us with this little project.
My next step will be to look for a good and reliable reading resource for me to learn more about global projects. I am meeting with my librarian which she is our computer helper for her to recommend me some good articles. If any one of you have a good recommendation for me please let me know.
What I have learned so far is that not every body is willing to integrate and help you out with the implementation of technology. But If I persevere and work on it with the right people, I will be able to accomplish at least one of my goals before the end of this month. The implementation of technology in a school or in a clssroom requires of good planning and a great guididng, for that reason I am getting together with the people whom will help me to reach my goals.

Reflection on the National Education Standards for Teacher (NETS-T).
While reading the NETS-T I was glad to se that I am not so far from a good way of integrating technology in my classroom. On the other hand I noticed that I need to work in some other areas that are as equally important as the ones I am covering. The standards and indicators that I am comfortable with are the number one; number two and standard number four.
1.-Facilitate and Inspire Student learning and Creativity Teachers use their knowledge of subject matter, teaching and learning, and technology to facilitate experiences that advance student learning, creativity, and innovation in both face-to-face and virtual environments.
2.-Design and Develop Digital-Age Learning Experiences and Assessments Teachers design, develop, and evaluate authentic learning experiences and assessments incorporating contemporary tools and resources to maximize content learning in context and to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes identified in the NETS•S.
4.Promote and Model Digital Citizenship and Responsibility
Teachers understand local and global societal issues and responsibilities in
evolving digital culture and exhibit legal and ethical http://www.iste.org/AM/Template.cfm?Section=NETS
In my school corporation the integration of technology in the classroom it is a serious matter. All teachers are asked to follow the Universal Design of learning and plan all their lessons according to this principle. One of the biggest factors this principle promotes is the use of technology in the classroom as a learning resource. I was feeling happy because I thought that what I was integrating in my class was perfect.
Yesterday after reading the NETS-T, I found that in fact I am covering some standards and indicators but I am missing some more.
I will work my GAME plan to complete the standard number three and five that I have found very interesting and important as well as the ones I already apply.
3. Model Digital-Age Work and Learning
Teachers exhibit knowledge, skills, and work processes representative of an innovative professional in a global and digital society.
5. Engage in Professional Growth and Leadership
Teachers continuously improve their professional practice, model lifelong learning, and exhibit leadership in their school and professional
community by promoting and demonstrating the effective use of digital tools and resources. http://www.iste.org/AM/Template.cfm?Section=NETS
My Goal will be for me to integrate in my teaching programs that help me expose my students’ projects not only in our school or town but outside it. I will try to do that at least once a month. I will also try to enrich my technology knowledge at least one per semester.
The Action will consist of pairing with one of my colleagues that are familiar with the internet and the programs that we can use to expose our students projects. I will enroll in more technology professional developments for me to learn more ideas and ways of integrating it in my classroom. I will also try to read more articles and researches related to technology and education.
The Monitor method that I will use is to mark in my calendar every time I attend a professional development or at least read an article about technology. I will place a date for my students to learn something about global connection.
I will Evaluate my work by checking on the quality of my students’ projects and on how many times they had the opportunity to get in touch with a school form another county or state.
If I follow my GAME plan soon I will be covering standards three and five. This action will be very helpful for me and my students.
